Eugene Benedict left the Odanak reserve in Canada at the age of 15 to find workm in the United States, served time as a Marine on the front lines in Vietnam, and at long last found his way home to Odanak. GOVERNOR’S CUP
Collection of three short documentaries, one a work in progress. Ramona Emerson's A RETURN HOME profiles Navajo artist B. EMerson Kitsman, who begins a monumental project while adjusting to her return to life on the reservation. Tommy Tischler's work in progress, COACH HUIZAR, introduces Robert Huizar,  who coaches football at the New Mexico School for the Deaf.  Armando Kirwin and Daniel Dinning created the third work, SLAMDOC!, following four New Mexicans on a quest to win a national poetry slam competition. Sponsored by the New Mexico Film Office, National Geographic's All Roads Film Project and Comcast. Length TBA.
